Transcript below, as usual, but there's a lot of stuff to catch you all up on about the comic and more.
The personal stuff first: Shan and I are getting married today! Hooray!
We figured if we waited until we could "do it up right," we'd be waiting a long, long time (especially considering it turns out the insurance settlement isn't even going to cover my medical bills), but hey--We're together, and we're happy. During the times we can't make each other happy, we at least make each other less miserable. Heh! Eventually we'll have a big reception/party to celebrate, but we're cool with a little civil ceremony for now.
About the comic:
And what's this? After such a long unplanned hiatus, three updates at once? Well, yeah. I've had the line art from Mike's last two strips for quite a while, but wanted to wait until I was going to be able to keep things going before I posted them.
You'll also notice that my name is the only one on the comic now. Yup--My arm/back have been improving quite a bit. The bad days are getting fewer, further between, and less severe, so I decided to take over the art myself.
It is of course not up to the standards you've been used to in the past, and I was a bit nervous about it, but in a way, it's nice to be doing it all myself from start to finish. I can draw for about twenty minutes at a time now before things start cramping up, so I'm just pacing myself, and I figure my drawing will improve with time. Shan is helping with critiques and suggestions (and of course, it's nice to have all of her original inks for reference), and drew Kit's body on this strip. I'm also out of practice with shading, but I'll work on all of it as we go.
Expect a redesign and some improvements to the site soon, too!

Updates are going to be a bit far between right now while I clear a few things off my plate, but I'll certainly be continuing the comic. Starting to use a tablet, which should cut my drawing time down, hence sparing my arm. So as I get used to the tablet, expect update frequency to increase.
BTW, any chance of you getting down our way again any time soon?
Oh, by the way, Seth, I finally have the comments showing on the front comic the way you suggested so long ago.

I didn't even know you could draw I thought you were just a writer. I looks very really awesome man. If this is you when you're rusty I can't wait to see what you can do when you're at 100%!! I always think the comic comes out better when it is all done by the same person. Nice to see an update.

I owe a lot to Shan's awesome character designs and her help teaching me to draw "cartoony" style stuff--When I used to draw regularly my default style was realism, so it's a big switch.
And my apologies to everyone that I haven't had a chance to do more updates lately. Shannon and I have been jumping through hoops to make sure we can pay for groceries. Looks like that'll calm down soon, though.
I hope to start updating again soon--I have scripts written, and just need to get more used to the tablet and actually draw them. Did this update with traditional media, but yeah... I think the tablet will be MUCH better for my arm.
Oh, yeah... You'd better watch out for Yoshime. She's taking lots of vitamins, and she won't let you Evil Robots win.

hi,I was just wondering, why hasn't there been any updates for about 5 months now? Not complaining, just curious.
I just spent the past day and a half reading all the comics. I could've done it all in one day, but I really had some work to get done...
Anywho, I noticed that there hasn't been an update anytime recently. Hope to see one soon, 'cause this quickly became a favorite read!

Thanks to everyone who's been commenting and urging me to get cracking on the comic again, and everyone who has sent best wishes to Shan and me about our wedding. We are poor, but blissfully in love. And I wanted to reply to everyone on this thread individually, but I'd have been here all morning.
On the comic:
I haven't wanted to jinx it, and yeah, my plan was to draw things myself, but I may have found a new artist I can work with. If he doesn't work out, I promise I shall begin drawing it myself. Now, updates will be irregular and infrequent, but they shall resume at some point within the next month. Feel free to hold my feet to the fire on this.
And here is where I squee about a couple of things...
In other news, my friend Kij Johnson's story, 26 Monkeys, Also The Abyss, is a finalist for both the Nebula and Hugo awards. Read it. Now. Seriously. Also, I made a site for another friend, critically-acclaimed fantasy author Lane Robins, on the occasion of the publication of her third novel. (Read all of Lane's books--Maledicte, its sequel Kings and Assassins, and (under the name Lyn Benedict), Sins & Shadows
You should read all of their books. They're all great, but the furries among us may especially like Kij's novels and short stories. (The Fox Woman, about a Kitsune, Fudoki, about a cat who becomes a woman, and if you can find copy, Tales for the Long Rains, her short story collection.
Oh, and in case anybody missed it... I've redone the site with some improvements, and will make more improvements as we go. Everybody should also check out the other thing that's been consuming my time lately--LawrenceHost.

The theme I'm building now should be faster still. I'm going to do my best to find the optimum ratio of speed to coolness. Instead of using a premade Drupal theme, I'm starting with one specifically designed for people to build their own on top of it.
Yeah, I could have started completely from scratch--I have before--Of course, by the time I'm done I'll have replaced pretty much all the code, but this gives some "placeholder" code until then.
I've already added a couple of new things, and will be adding quite a few more. If you notice, everyone has user titles now, from newby to "the almighty." I don't remember if we had the quote button or the Richtext editor before. I need to add the "choose a storyline" thing back in, though. Maybe tonight or tomorrow.
