The upcoming changes are in the little box to the right. I think you'll like some of them.
But first I have to gush a little bit and express my appreciation for you guys--Especially all of you Blue Crash Kit fans. (And by the way, comic updates will become more and more frequent as I get more comfortable drawing--most of you know about the spine injury that affects my right arm), and as I begin working with other artists. It's the art that slows things down.)
Anyway. Ahem...
Almost 3,000 (out of 18,000) BCK fans are back already--Less than three weeks of the comic being back from the dead!
I feel loved (or at least the comic does). Thank you so much for your patience and continued readership. I honestly wondered if BCK would be entirely forgotten by now.
Instead, after a year-long hiatus, and even though I've barely begun updating again, even though I'm doing the comic mostly by myself now (Don't worry--Shannon and I are still together and very much in love), even though I haven't done any promotion at all other than emailing those who registered at the old site with the new URL, and even though I haven't really been making much with teh funneh yet--Mostly just moving the plot along a bit...
Well, check this out. I need to set up some context for why I'm squeeing.
In case you weren't aware, back when we were updating regularly, Blue Crash Kit had around 18,000 or so unique visitors each month (Meaning that no matter how many times someone came to the site that month, they were only counted once as far as monthly number of visitors go.), averaged between 2,000 and 3,000 unique visitors per day (daily uniques are counted separately from monthly) and served around 900,000 page views a month. These statistics do not include bots, spiders, etc.
Now, that's not earth-shattering by any means, but not too bad for a goofy little webcomic. You guys also put BCK in the Alexa top 100,000 back then (Alexa is a website rating company that ranks all the millions or so sites worldwide, and being in their top 100,000 is a BIG deal.), and gave us a pretty decent standing on the webcomics topsites lists in which we participated.
Now, less than three weeks after resuming updates--again, without promoting-- nearly three thousand of you are already back, and together you've viewed nearly 60,000 pages. This warms the cockles of my heart. It isn't the numbers themselves, but what the numbers represent.
So to all of BCK's fans and friends, both old and new, thank you, thank you, thank you. Since Talon, Firecat, and Enigma first started fighting crime and defending Earth, you guys have been wonderful to us in every way. You've cheered us on during the good times, and, during the bad times--Like Shannon's myriad health issues, my accidents (I need to re-post the "wear your helmet" pics from the one accident), the breakup of our triad, and more, you've encouraged us, agonized alongside us, sympathized with us, and when we were in dire financial need (and when aren't we?), you even paid our bills for us.
And now, even after a year, you're still there. I cannot imagine a more fantastic group of fans and friends. You are why I do this.
I love all of you more than cheese.
glad to see ya back in action :)
